Terms of service.
Welcome to KAKAO by Caro. By placing an order or booking our services, you agree to the following terms and conditions. Please read them carefully before confirming your booking.
1. Bespoke Wedding Orders
KAKAO by Caro specialises in bespoke wedding chocolate favours. All products are made to order and tailored to each client’s specifications.
Minimum Order
A minimum order of 40 guests (80 chocolates) applies to all wedding bookings.
Orders below this minimum cannot be accommodated.
2. Booking & Payment
A booking is confirmed once:
• A written confirmation has been received
• The invoice has been accepted
• The required deposit has been paid
A 50% deposit is required to secure your booking and reserve your wedding date in our production calendar.
The remaining balance is due no later than 14 days prior to the wedding date.
Wedding dates are not reserved until the deposit has been received.
Production will not begin until payment terms are satisfied.
3. Late Bookings
Subject to availability, bookings may be accepted up to 3 weeks before the wedding date.
A late booking fee will apply to cover expedited production and scheduling adjustments.
Availability for late bookings is not guaranteed.
4. Wedding Tasting Experience
The Wedding Tasting Experience is a paid service.
• The tasting fee is non-refundable.
• If a full wedding order is confirmed, the tasting fee is redeemable against the final invoice.
• Tasting samples are not presented in final wedding packaging.
Tastings are prepared based on the details provided at the time of enquiry.
5. Bespoke Nature of Products
As all favours are handcrafted and custom-designed:
• Colours may vary slightly from digital mock-ups.
• Minor variations in finish, shade, or detail may occur due to the handmade process.
• Design approval is required prior to full production.
6. Allergens & Dietary Responsibility
All ingredient and allergen information is provided upon request and/or detailed in product documentation.
Our products are prepared in a kitchen that handles nuts, gluten, sesame, soy, and other common allergens.
KAKAO by Caro cannot be held responsible for allergic reactions resulting from:
• Undisclosed allergies
• Failure to communicate dietary requirements
• Cross-contamination risks inherent in a shared kitchen environment
It is the responsibility of the client to inform us in writing of any specific dietary requirements prior to production.
7. Storage & Shelf Life
All chocolates have a shelf life of approximately 3 weeks when stored correctly.
Storage instructions:
• Keep refrigerated at or below 5°C
• Store in a dry environment
• Avoid direct sunlight and heat
KAKAO by Caro is not responsible for damage caused by improper storage once products have been delivered or collected.
8. Delivery & Collection
Delivery arrangements will be confirmed in writing prior to the wedding date.
Once products have been:
• Delivered to the agreed location
• Collected by the client or representative
Responsibility transfers to the client.
KAKAO by Caro is not liable for damage, mishandling, or environmental exposure after handover.
9. Cancellations
Due to the bespoke and perishable nature of our products:
• Deposits are non-refundable.
• Cancellations within 14 days of the wedding date are non-refundable in full.
Each cancellation will be reviewed individually.
10. Intellectual Property
All designs, branding, concepts, and packaging mock-ups remain the intellectual property of KAKAO by Caro.
They may not be reproduced or replicated without written permission.
11. Limitation of Liability
KAKAO by Caro shall not be liable for:
• Indirect or consequential loss
• Allergic reactions where allergens were undisclosed
• Damage occurring after delivery or collection
• Delays caused by third-party venues or couriers
Liability is limited to the total value of the order placed.
